01. About me

I'm a software engineer with more than eight years of experience building full-stack web applications and backend microservices. My work runs from front-end features in Razor, JavaScript, and jQuery down to server-side services in VB.NET and Java Spring Boot, backed by SQL Server.

Today I lead a team of five engineers at Simplicity Software, where I assign work, review code, and approve and deploy changes, while still building features myself. Before that, I spent time at Mastercard developing backend services for their Dispute Lifecycle microservices.

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University and I'm currently looking for my next software engineering role.

1. Software Engineer Team Lead @ Simplicity Software

   • Lead the development team for a complex user portal serving 80,000+ users.

     • Architected role-based access control enforcing feature visibility and data boundaries for 65 distinct roles across separate contractor, distributor, and administrator organizations.
     • Rebuilt a nationwide contractor rebate program from the ground up — enrollment, purchase entry, and calculation logic paying out over $10M annually.
     • Manage a team of 5 engineers, overseeing their development, deploying and approving code changes, assigning tasks, and reviewing completed work.
     • Develop front-end features using Razor, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX calls to a RESTful API.
